**He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role**

We have two positions available for Health Care Assistants in the general surgical department at Whakatāne Hospital working 56 to 64 hours per fortnight.

The role of the Health Care Assistant is to assist the Registered Nurse deliver a high standard of personal cares to patients in hospital.

Health care assistants work under the direction of highly motivated, friendly and enthusiastic nursing teams who are committed to delivering acute and comprehensive quality care. We offer and support education opportunities.

**He Korero mōu - About You**

You require a Certificate in Healthcare Assistance, or relevant qualification. Ideally you will be an effective and compassionate communicator and have a sense of humour, can demonstrate you can work well in a team and are safety focused.
