The Role - Te Tūranga
We're looking for a Senior Legal Counsel (Senior Adviser) and Legal Counsel (Adviser) to join our Regulatory Policy team in either our Auckland or Wellington offices.
Some of the key pieces of work our team are involved in include:

- Working with MBIE, the Reserve Bank and other agencies on developing and implementing significant pieces of financial markets law reform
- Considering the appropriate regulation of novel financial products and services
- Keeping under review the law and practices relating to financial markets
- Leading and contributing to significant pieces of FMA guidance
- Developing new class exemptions and reviewing existing class exemptions

About you - Ō pūkenga
You'll bring a proven ability to interact with stakeholders, shape and drive policy projects, and work collaboratively with our operational colleagues.
You may be an experienced policy professional with experience working with primary legislation and secondary legislation. Or if you're a lawyer, here's your opportunity to try out policy (noting that a law degree is not essential to be considered for this role and it's optional to have a practising certificate if you qualify).
