**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**
We have an exciting 24 month development opportunity for a midwife to coordinate our Maternity Quality and Safety Programme. You will gain experience in a quality-focused role directly relevant to clinical care.
This is a high profile position within the service and links with the Manatū Hauora and other hospitals across the country.
You will work closely with the Operations Manager, Director of Midwifery, Clinical Leader of Obstetrics and a Committee to support us in the delivery of a well-established Maternity Quality and Safety Programme across Capital and Coast.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the MQSP work programme
- Preparing quarterly monitoring reports and requested MQSP related documents
- Being accountable for up to three projects at any one time
- Secretariat support to MQSP Committee along with our MQSP Administrator
- Engaging and liaising across WHS, Lead Maternity Carers (LMC), Consumers, and other districts MQSP Coordinators
- Attending and contributing to Regional MQSP meetings and innovations
- Contributing, at a planning level, to effect service engagement, equity and excellence
**Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team**
Our maternity quality and safety programme is governed by Consumers, LMC representatives, clinicians and managers. A comprehensive work programme is in place with a well monitored action plan. Quality within the service is supported by an MQSP Coordinator who coordinates the programme.
**Moū - About you**
Skills and experience:
- MCNZ Registration as a qualified midwife, and a current annual practicing certificate without restrictions
- A comprehensive knowledge of the New Zealand maternity system
- Recent experience in primary, secondary and tertiary level maternity care
- Strong, clear, communication skills with the ability to influence
- Capacity to innovate; inspire and motivate others
- Good analysis and project management capability
- A collaborative approach and able to work well with colleagues
- Sensitivity and knowledge of working within culturally diverse populations
- Excellent computer skills
