Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Due to a recent resignation, we are looking for a registered midwife who wants to be challenged and make a quantifiable difference to the future of the next generation.

You will be part of a nationwide prevention programme where the overall goal is to reduce the number of incidents of Sudden Unexpected Death of an Infant (SUDI) related death within all communities with a particular focus on Maori and Pacific populations. The strategic delivery of the program is coordinated by local DHB's to in ensure the program aligns with best practice.

**This is a Community-centric position where you will**:
Add value to the lives of women, babies and whanau
Increase accessibility to safe sleeping spaces and break down barriers through education
Make your mark through culturally sensitive practices

As the Coordinator you will work closely with regional DHB's committed to this programme you will be responsible for building on the learning's and improvements in this shared space and contributed to the overall effectiveness of the programs framework.
In this community position, you will have the opportunity to travel locally regularly to promote the benefits of the program.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following:
Previous extensive community knowledge and networks
Experience in wahine, tamariki and whānau health promotion
Experience working with lower socio-demographic status whānau
Proven administration and communication skills
Experience with tīkanga in a healthcare setting and working in a Midwifery Continuity of Care Model is desirable
