**The company**: A successful global freight forwarding company who has a major stake in the NZ market for their service offering across both retail and wholesale customers.

**The role**: We are currently seeking an ambitious Operations Manager to lead and support these busy operational teams. With 5 direct reports and 14 indirect reports you will take the reins to assist with the growth and continued development of air, sea and warehouse operations. You will also be the right hand person to the General Manager providing support and backup when required.

**Duties include**:

- Manage 4 Team Leaders across - Imports, Exports, Customer Service, Customs and Warehouse Operations.
- Lead, montor, guide and develop staff as needed
- Staff appointments
- Procurement working with suppliers and transport partners
- Compliance - MPI / RACA / RMP and Health & Safety
- Review current workloads and forecast future requirements
- Hold regular meetings, review previous period including results, forecast and planning for upcoming period.
- Take responsibility for financial results of teams - monitor jobs to ensure margin levels are maintained, stop leakage and retrain staff if required.
- Drive initiatives for continual operations functions improvements

**Skills required**:

- 5+ years in a Supervisory or Operations Management position ideally both imports & exports, however this is not a prerequisite.
- Proven leadership experience
- Operational & financially saavy
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Competent in using Cargowise
