**About the Role**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Haematology Registered Nurse with an interest and specialist knowledge in bone marrow transplant patient management.

You will be responsible for:

- Service development & quality improvements for the transplant service
- Initiates & manages Service based complex patient clinical reviews
- Liaise with primary services to support the entire patient journey from admission through to discharge
- Mentors & role models expert clinical practice & standards to support staff to work to the top of their scope
- Educates staff in relation to daily clinical practice development & new initiatives most specifically stem cell transplant patient management
- Undertakes & drives a small component of research to the role for quality specialty/ service improvements

**About the Service**

The Bone Marrow Transplant Unit located in ward B6 is where patients receive specialised treatment for malignant and non-malignant haematological disorders treating patients from throughout the South Island.

We are a well-established collaborative team, who work and play hard. We deliver high standards of nursing care to the patients and families admitted to the ward. We offer a supportive and encouraging work environment and strive to be recognised as a centre of excellence.

**About you**
- 3 - 5 years recent haematology experience
- Relevant bone marrow transplant experience
- You will either hold or be working towards a relevant post graduate qualification.
- Experience working in a clinical speciality or relevant senior nursing role
- Demonstrate skills in nursing leadership
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with a strong patient focus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
