Based in Mangere, at the Refugee Resettlement Centre, the Refugee Quota Branch is responsible for the selection and resettlement of the refugees in line with New Zealand's Refugee Quota Policy.

The objective of the Refugee Quota Policy is to provide a safe haven and resettle refugees who have been referred by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), in accordance with New Zealand's national, international and humanitarian obligations and commitments.

The Refugee Quota Branch also manages the reception centre and delivery of the reception programme at Te Āhuru Mōwai o Aotearoa (formerly Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre).

As a Support Officer, you will contribute to the operations of the branch by:

- Practicing the MBIE values and working alongside people from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved with the reception and resettlement of mandated refugees
- Remaining nimble and adaptable while working as a collaborative and trusted team member
- Managing information systems and general administrative duties to support and coordinate with multiple teams across an interesting and productive office. Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required
- An ability to work effectively without supervision
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment to tight timeframes
- Proven experience working with information systems and computer technology
- Attention to detail

- Ability to develop trust and credibility with a wide range of stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Positive ‘can do' attitude, and an ability to communicate effectively with people of different cultures, genders and abilities
- Police vetting a requirement
