Transitioning Auckland's transport network on such a mammoth scale is no mean feat and we need a talented team to ensure we are up to this task.

The **Senior Climate Adaptation Specialist** is responsible for implementing climate adaptation planning across AT operations, assets and construction.

This role will develop the plans for current and future asset management/operations.

Climate Change Adaptation planning contributes to ATs purpose and ambition of a resilient and sustainable transport system.

**Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity**
- Providing technical advice to internal and external stakeholders, in particular AT Asset Managers, AT Project Managers and AT Storm Recovery Team.
- Development and presentation of climate adaptation material to Mana whenua, Local Boards, Council/AT Committees and AT Board
- Proactively working with Auckland Council and other CCOs to ensure alignment of adaptation approach
- Working with agile teams to develop adaptation decision making frameworks
- Providing guidance and information to consultants working for the Adaptation and Environment Team
- Working with AT specialists to ensure relevant GIS data from Council reflects AT planning requirements
- Preparing detailed work plans and programmes for financial review and funding

**Ko koe tēnei | About you**
- Bachelors degree in physical sciences or engineering or equivalent.
- Post-graduate qualification in relevant field
- Professional membership of relevant industry organisation
- Minimum of 5+yrs experience in relevant environmental or engineering field
- Demonstrated knowledge of climate change legislation and reporting requirements
- Practical experience in asset planning, maintenance and/or asset operations
- Experience working in transport or utility/infrastructure sector
- Experience with Local Government
- Experience with GIS
