This includes the construction of some of the largest and most significant infrastructure projects in New Zealand - across the roading, marine, rail and water sectors as well as constructing subdivisions and providing nationwide support services such as precast concrete elements and landscaping. We are looking for a part-time (32 hours per week) Senior Legal Counsel to work alongside our Head of Legal in providing expert legal advice and guidance across all areas of our business. This is a six-month fixed-term opportunity to cover Parental Leave. This role will see you involved with: - Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of documents including construction contracts, alliance agreements, joint venture arrangements, subcontracts, consultancy contracts and associated ancillary agreements; - Assisting with privacy, corporate governance, compliance and dispute matters as required; - Working in a "hands on" and flexible way to advise on other broader legal issues that arise in the context of business operations including in areas relating to privacy law, occupational health and safety, property law, intellectual property, environment, competition law, employment, insolvency and governance. - Keeping abreast of relevant regulatory and legislative requirements affecting the business; - Delivering solutions-focused practical legal advice. You will be a clear thinker who displays initiative, enjoys interacting with people at all levels of the business and has a positive and constructive engagement style. Ideally you will have strong practical experience across a broad spectrum of legal matters relevant to commercial law from your previous experience in a private practice or in-house environment. You will also have knowledge of key legislation and regulations relevant to the Construction and Infrastructure sectors. You will be collaborative, easily adapt to change, and enjoy the challenge of working in a fast paced and ever-changing business environment.
