**Senior Analyst - Insights and Systems**: National Intelligence Centre, it starts with you

About the role
The purpose of the National Intelligence Centre is to actively enable decision maker advantage at strategic, operational, and tactical levels for Districts, the Executive and other domestic and international agencies.
As Senior Analyst Insights and Systems, you will help us to understand and maximise our capabilities with respect to core datasets using data science techniques. You will also assist with analysis for location-based intelligence and reporting for Police.
The Senior Analyst Insights and Systems will provide technical expertise, peer review and advice regarding data analysis, and in the development, processing, and maintenance of data sets with a particular focus on location-based data for the NIC.
Key Accountabilities
- Ability to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability of NIC intelligence reporting by developing and maintaining internal and combined multi-agency data sets, and data delivery processes.
- Provide peer review
- Work with the Geospatial team to use and enhance data for visualisation and storytelling.
- Develop innovative solutions to data challenges in the NIC.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in managing, analysing, and reporting upon data in a large organisation.
- Able to develop reports and data extracts in SAS and Business Objects.
- Data process development and delivery of training to support Capability across Intelligence workgroups
- Provide peer review and quality assurance for team members work
- Contribute in a positive manner to the effective daily operation and data reporting standards for the Geospatial and wider Innovations and Capability team in the NIC

- Technical and analytical skills in the use of complex data, statistics, and associated reporting tools (e.g. SQL, SAS, Power BI, R, Python and Business Objects)
- Interest in geospatial and some knowledge of ArcGIS
- Strategic and conceptual thinking.
- Creative, Innovative.
- Able to influence decision-makers and work effectively with counterparts in other business units within the organisation.
- Insightful and analytical thinker who can organise, analyse, and interpret data.
- Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a dynamic fast-paced environment
- An ability to create data products that will support geospatial visualisation and infographics to support communication initiatives.
- Ability to identify, build and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
**Requirements**:
A tertiary qualification or relevant work experience containing a significant component of statistics and data analysis. For example, a postgraduate qualification in data science, geomatics, or sciences with a significant statistics and analytical component
Must be able hold and maintain a National Security Clearance.
This role is set at Individual Contributor level, this means your key purpose is “to deliver or enable others to deliver Our Business”.
We will ask you questions based on “How we will deliver Our Business - Core Competencies” and the appropriate role level, i.e. Individual Contributor.
