IT Infrastructure Manager

Hill Laboratories, a leading provider of analytical laboratory services in New Zealand, has embarked on a significant digital transformation programme. We are modernising our bespoke Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), creating new ways of interfacing with our clients and upgrading our business processes. As we move through this change, we need to modernise our IT infrastructure whilst also considering how we can make use of cloud services and SAS solutions to better shape how we can do business.
**The Role**
- Lead and foster a growing team of IT engineers
- Ensure that our security stance meets the business's risk appetite
- Plan IT infrastructure projects and ensure the team meet the deadlines
- Lead the support teams, ensuring they provide the best support to our business
- Lead our transition into the cloud, ensuring that AWS is used to its full potential
**About You**
You'll be used to leading an IT team and experienced in managing multiple infrastructure projects. Ideally, you'll have a formal project management qualification. You'll be someone who puts the customer at the centre of what you do and who can explain what's needed to your team in a meaningful way. You'll need to help the team solve problems and be action orientated. Whilst we don’t expect you to be an expert in all that we do we will be expected to draw on your team's expertise and that of consultants to get the job done promptly.
- A numerate degree is required.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in administering and supporting both Linux and Windows servers
- Experience in working with ITIL. An ITIL qualification would be an advantage
- A proven track record in delivering solutions on AWS or similar
- A solid knowledge of Microsoft 365, Office, outlook etc.
- A formal project management qualification PRINCE2\PRINCE2 AGILE etc
- Solid understanding of SCRUM or Kanban obtained in previous positions
- Experience executing cybersecurity strategies and initiatives, ensuring that appropriate proactive and preventative investment is undertaken and that rapid response plans are tightly executed
- Accountability for developing annual operational budgets that meet the growing demands of the business and ensuring budgets are well managed
- Develop key strategic partnerships with technology suppliers
- Coaching and mentoring team members to help motivate, guide and grow their capabilities
