The Company
RobLawMax Recruitment is working in an excluisve partnership with Waikato Regional Council to source an experienced Senior Manager to lead their Water Infrastructure assets, overseeing operational, asset management and engineering teams.

The Position
As the Infrastructure Manager, you will lead the strategic direction and delivery of operational and capital projects across regional flood protection and land drainage assets. You'll spearhead change, bringing people together to achieve excellence while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture. This role requires political and community awareness, including a commitment to mana whenua engagement and partnership. The position leads a team of 70 staff (Operations and Engineering) and has 6 direct reports (Schemes Managers, an Asset Manager and Chief Engineer).
Skills and Experience Required
Essential criteria for the role include significant experience (15 years, 10+ in leading large infrastructure teams), tertiary qualifications relevant to infrastructure (ideally water assets) or environmental management, and successfully leading change as a senior manager in multidisciplinary organisations.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
* Experience in a similar senior level position leading teams
* Demonstrated skills in strategic and tactical planning
* Contract and budget management
* Collaborative teamwork experience, proven ability to work effectively in high-pressure, rapidly changing environments
* Proven success as a driver of change, strategically guiding teams through transformation and delivering results in complex, multidisciplinary settings
* Strong background in large scale infrastructure operations, team leadership, and programme management
* Extensive experience working collaboratively with local communities, iwi, and political stakeholders, with demonstrated cultural competency
* Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
