**Āu Mahi | What You Will Do**
This permanent role of Kaihautū Mahi ā-Kaupeka | Director of Faculty Operations is a key pan-University professional leadership role that is accountable for delivering effective and efficient leadership, management, and development of operational support for all Faculties. This includes promoting and implementing a one University approach.
Working with your team of Kaiwhakahaere Kaupeka I Faculty Managers, you will develop and ensure the delivery of operational activities for Faculties, in support of their academic mission. As you will hold line management of the Kaiwhakahaere Kaupeka | Faculty Managers, you will facilitate strong relationships with Executive Deans and Service Unit leaders. You have oversight of the delivery of services to the Faculties that is provided by the Kaiwhakahaere Kaupeka | Faculty Managers. You will ensure excellent, timely and agreed levels of service.
You will also assume a portfolio and therefore carry out the Kaiwhakahaere Kaupeka | Faculty Manager responsibilities in a Faculty. This means you will act as a partner and business adviser to the Executive Dean, Academic Heads, and the Faculty Leadership Team for this Faculty. As such you will be heavily involved in the development of the Faculty Strategic Plan and its translation to annual operational plans, ensuring alignment of the operational and administrative services to the Faculty's teaching & learning and research strategic needs.
**Mōu | Who You Are**
You will have considerable and demonstrable experience in the day-to-day operational management within a large and complex organisation. Experience within the tertiary sector (teaching and learning environment) is desirable. You will have exceptionally competent general management skills and experience in strategic and operational planning, workforce analysis and planning, finance, health and safety, change management and people leadership at a senior level.
Being a confident communicator, you will engage key stakeholders and gain their support with projects and change management. You will embrace, innovate and take the lead in complicated change initiatives, resulting in successful outcomes.
You will actively demonstrate a commitment to upholding the values, tikanga (protocols and processes), kawa (rules) of cultural practice and traditions as guided by mana whenua, Ngāi Tūāhuriri, and valuing te reo Māori.
