- **We are looking for an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist - Diabetes who wishes to advance their career on the Nurse Practitioner pathway.**
- **Work with the highly skilled multi-disciplinary team within the Waikato Regional Diabetes service**

**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to progress your career on the pathway to become a Nurse Practitioner. This position will specialise in the care of patients with both Type 1 and complex Type 2 diabetes and those on the Adult Weight management programme.

You will work alongside experienced senior clinicians and the multi-disciplinary team within the diabetes service. You will be on the Nurse Practitioner pathway or be eligible to be on the Nurse Practitioner pathway. You will be expected to successfully obtain Nurse Practitioner status with nursing council New Zealand within a two year period.

Te Whatu Ora Waikato Regional Diabetes Service provides secondary level care to those within the Waikato Region. This expands as far as Coromandel, Taumarunui, Te Kauwhata and the Raglan coast. We have a large multi-disciplinary team and promote a positive approach to teamwork. We are committed to and support learning and development of our staff to give the best possible care to our patients.

**Mōu | About you**

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

- An experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist
- Approved Post Graduate Masters Qualification
- Minimum two years fulltime experience in diabetes management
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in collaboration with other health professionals
- Registered Nurse Prescriber would be an advantage
- Full clean drivers licence
