**Our Opportunity**
As the Site Maintenance Engineer for our baking site in **Nelson**, you are responsible for safety, quality, reactive and preventative maintenance, efficiency and cost effective management of the Engineering function including plant, buildings, project management, new installations, contractor management and people.
This would be a great opportunity for anyone who has recently completed an apprenticeship programme in an Engineering role who is looking to kick-start their Engineering career within a large manufacturing company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Improve the reliability of machinery and challenge the status quo
- Schedule and perform regular routine maintenance tasks
- Attend to breakdowns
- Perform general engineering, repairs when required
- Ensure all compliance aspects of daily business is followed and adhered to
- Ensure all preventative maintenance tasks are followed and up to date
- Support operational effectiveness including engineering/maintenance improvement projects, plant maintenance, inventory
About You
- An ability to carry-out effective trouble-shooting and repairs to ensure minimum down-time in production
- Health, safety and environment knowledge, including machinery guarding
- Trade qualification in fitting, turning or general engineering
- Food manufacturing experience (preferred)
**Plant currently runs 7 days a week. As result, the days and hours might flex depending on the requirements of the site and production demands.**
