This role is a great opportunity to step up into a Midwifery Leadership role.
- This is a unique and influential role in maternity care, developing support for whānau, LMC’s, maternity staff and integration with other providers.

The aim is to improve the health and wellbeing of whānau by providing leadership to two key public health initiatives:
1. The Smokefree programme engages and supports pregnant smokers to quit

2. The safe sleep programme aims to reduce the incidence of SUDI through whānau education and the provision of safe sleep beds to whānau

You will provide leadership and oversight of these programmes by providing education, building relationships, and developing operational systems to enable these programmes to run smoothly and achieve goals. You will also need to be an experienced midwife with a clear understanding of maternity care in New Zealand and the choices available to whānau. You will need to be an experienced Midwife with at least 3 years of relevant post registration experience, post graduate Midwifery education is preferred.
