Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The new national Supply Chain (SC) leadership team is being established within Te Whatu Ora. This leadership group will support the development and implementation of Te Whatu Ora's P&SC operating model which is Nationally-led, and Delivered Nationally, Regionally and Locally.
The primary purpose of the National Manager Purchasing is to Lead and oversee the national purchasing team for Te Whatu Ora and develop the function in line with the strategy, vision, and values of Te Whatu Ora. The role will work closely with Procurement, Finance, business support, in hospital distribution team and stakeholders to develop and implement policy, processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the end-to-end Purchase to Pay process. Taking responsibility for providing operational oversight of purchasing processing, compliance, problem solving relating to purchase to pay,ensuring timely expedite execution and driving purchasing transformation.

We are seeking a seasoned leader who will lead and oversea the National purchasing team and ensure strong stakeholder management that will focus on streamlining, simplifying, and automating processes across the entire purchase to pay cycle. Your career to date has seen you working effectively with complex supply chains and building and leading high performing teams. You will be a self-starter, be action-driven and flexible in a fast-paced environment, excel at managing multiple priorities, succeed in communicating with all levels within the organization and be an interface to the other P&SC functions. Confident leading in an ambiguous and shifting environment, you feel comfortable taking on this senior role within an organisation of Te Whatu Ora's scale.

- Proven experience in managing in purchasing
- Have a good comprehension of procurement, finance and its interactions with and purchasing
- A deep understanding of the purchase to pay process and experience in driving standardisation and business improvement through this process
- You have worked in Oracle or similar ERP
- Be a self-starter, action-driven, flexible in changing directions and methods, thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at managing multiple priorities, and succeed in communicating with all levels within the organization
