We are looking for a Manager, Accounting to join our Controllership team as an integral member of our Accounting and Finance team. Primarily responsible for overseeing the New Zealand and Australia (“ANZ”) accounting operations for the icebreaker brand. This includes ensuring compliance, accounting, and reporting standards and practices are met. This role manages and oversees ANZ’s compliance with VF’s policies and procedures, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), and local statutory requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely closing of business transactions, as well as driving excellence and efficiency around key accounting processes and controls.

Manager, Accounting

Key Outcomes:

- Ensure that monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting to Asia management and VF is timely and performed with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with VF’s policies and procedures, US GAAP, and local statutory accounting requirements including working with the external statutory auditor to ensure meeting of deadlines.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of income tax, fringe benefits tax, and GST filings including working with the VF Corporate Tax Team and external consultants on tax technical matters such as transfer pricing.
- Manage cash flows and work closely with VF treasury teams in APAC and US.
- With a focus on growth in the NZA market, be a strong business partner to key stakeholders and senior management
- Ensure that appropriate internal controls over financial reporting are implemented and operating effectively.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize business processes without compromising the effectiveness of internal controls and quality of work product.
- In charge of managing the preparation of the year-end statutory accounts and legal and tax compliance and overseeing the external audit.
- Other ad-hoc assignments or duties as required, e.g., new brand integration, SAP enhancement, etc.
- Team development and talent management.

Skills for Success:

- Tertiary qualified in Finance related discipline.
- CA/CPA or similar qualification
- The equivalent of 8 years of relevant experience (preferably Finance experience in a multi-national corporation in the wholesale/retail/trading industry); with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Highly competent to lead change, and driving operational excellence supported by deep Functional knowledge.
- Meticulous with excellent attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proven communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience partnering with the business in an advisory capacity.
- Experience leading a team.
- Experience with Microsoft AX, SAP, and internal controls compliance is preferred.
