Christchurch City Council's Three Waters Unit is looking for a skilled Landscape Maintenance Officer to support the ongoing upkeep and ecological management of the Christchurch Wastewater Treatment Plant (CWTP) and Banks Peninsula Treatment sites.

This position involves the practical delivery of landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks, including native planting, mowing, weed control, and support for nursery operations and midge control. The role is based within an industrial and environmentally sensitive setting, requiring a careful and methodical approach.

You'll work as part of a small team responsible for maintaining the site's overall appearance, security, and ecological performance, contributing to both operational reliability and compliance.

Key responsibilities | Ngā haepapa
- Landscape maintenance across CWTP and Banks Peninsula sites
- Weed control, mowing, and native planting
- Supporting native nursery operations
- Participating in midge mitigation activities
- Minor coordination of contractors and casual staff as required

Contributing to site safety, record keeping, and asset condition monitoring

**About you | Ko Koe Tēnei**

You'll have a background in horticulture or landscaping, with a preference for experience in industrial or complex environments. A sound understanding of safe work practices, equipment use, and ecological principles is important.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- A minimum Level 4 National Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent experience
- At least 6 years' relevant experience in grounds or garden maintenance
- A full New Zealand driver's licence
- GrowSafe certification (preferred)
- Chainsaw NZQA Level 3 qualification and WTR endorsements (desirable)
- Good communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others

You'll be reliable, practical, and able to manage your tasks independently while contributing to team-based outcomes.
