The purpose of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) group is to work in partnership with the organisation to provide the digital technology and communications solutions that support excellence in policing and service delivery and enable Police’s strategic ambitions.
With a primary hub in Wellington, and a presence throughout the country, we deliver new and enhanced solutions directly and through specialist vendor partnerships. We provide expert advice on how technology can be leveraged to support Police’s strategies and turn concepts into reality through collaborative development.
The Product Manager for User Devices will proactively work to identify our customers’ needs to ensure the organisation digital workspaces meet business needs and align with future organisation goals. You will develop modernisation strategies, deliver roadmaps and bring an overarching strategic asset management approach to the products in your portfolio.
The Product Manager - User Devices is a member of the wider Networks & Infrastructure Group and will work closely with the Director and other Product Managers across the Group. You will lead your Technical Product Owners to maximise value delivery from their products. This includes ensuring that prioritisation of work is data-driven, value-based and optimised to meet the needs of the organisation. The scope of this work ranges from modernisation initiatives to ongoing continuous improvement work.
As Product Manager of a diverse set of end-user products at enterprise scale, you will ensure robust, reliable, well designed and seamless outcomes are delivered to your customers in a timely manner. You will have proven vendor management and partnering experience to deliver the best possible results across the technical product set at national scale.
In this role you will engage widely and build trust with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure current and emerging requirements are understood, demand is forecast, and asset lifecycles are baked into future product plans.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Foster an engaged, high-performing, safe and supportive team culture that is inclusive of key business partners.
- Deliver a long-term product vision and roadmap that aligns with business goals for how our digital workspaces will evolve into the future.
- Collaborate across ICT stakeholders to ensure that strategic planning is aligned with the wider architectural vision, direction and technology landscape.
- Ensure that objectives and key results are well understood and strive to deliver data-driven metrics to measure success.
- Mentor Technical Product Owners to drive agile delivery methods to provide backlog transparency and deliver value faster to the organisation.
- Work closely with teams across the organisation to ensure that all parties are aligned on product vision and goals, nurturing a shared understanding across product teams.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day decision making related to your product ensuring a seamless digital workspace experience for the organisation.
