**About the Role**

Our Finance team plays a vital role as trusted advisors to the Council, Corporate Leadership Team, and Business Units, helping deliver outcomes for our communities. We're looking for a detail-focused and service-minded Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team on a fixed-term basis, covering parental leave. In this role, you'll support the smooth financial operations of Council by ensuring suppliers are paid on time, accurately, and in accordance with policy. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Accurately processing accounts payable transactions and journal entries
- Supporting and encouraging staff to use our Electronic Purchasing Order (EPO) system
- Following up on purchasing queries, including unmatched POs and receipting
- Providing backup support to the Accounts Payable Team Leader as needed
- Maintaining accurate financial data and documentation
- Delivering excellent service to internal and external customers

**About You**

You'll be someone who enjoys working with systems and processes, and who takes pride in providing excellent service to others. To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

- Experience in accounts payable or financial administration
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle queries constructively
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Good time management and organisational skills
- A positive, collaborative attitude and a willingness to learn
