The Ministerial and Executive Services team is responsible for the Ministry’s corporate accountability, planning and reporting, and official correspondence functions.

Earlier this year, the team implemented a new operating model to enhance the efficiency and better support the Ministry in meeting its statutory obligations and performance goals. **Senior Adviser - Corporate Accountability**

As the Senior Adviser - Corporate Accountability, you will be at the forefront of driving transparency and performance. You will lead the development of our corporate accountability, planning and reporting processes and documents, and work closely with and mentor the Adviser - Corporate Accountability. Key responsibilities include:

- Leading the Ministry’s corporate accountability processes and document production, including the Output Plan, Annual Report, Estimates and Annual Review hearing information, ensuring they meet internal and external requirements
- Leading the production of internal business planning and management reporting and advice
- Supporting the Manager in the allocation of incoming work
- Providing oversight and advice on the effectiveness of the team’s operating model and any areas of improvement
- Providing expert advice to the team and wider Ministry on the standards and delivery of services
- Coaching, advising and mentoring team members and supporting the overall capability development of the team
- Supporting the delivery of the team’s wider responsibilities as needed.

**Adviser - Corporate Accountability**

As the Adviser - Corporate Accountability, you’ll work closely with the Senior Adviser to help ensure the Ministry meets it accountability obligations. You’ll contribute to the development of key corporate documents and support internal management reporting. - Leading or supporting the preparation of the Ministry’s corporate accountability documents, including Strategic Intentions, Annual Report, Output Plan, Weekly Report, Estimates and Annual Review materials
- Leading or supporting the preparation of internal management reporting and advice.
- Monitoring the Ministry’s achievement of our performance measures, to support early identification and resolution of any areas of concern
- Engaging across the organisation to support understanding of, and compliance with, our accountability responsibilities
- Providing backup / support to other positions within the Ministerial and Executive Services team.

We’re looking for a **Senior Adviser - Corporate Accountability** who will have strong experience and demonstrated successful capability in:

- Providing advice and leading corporate accountability matters for Ministers and senior leaders, including authoring briefings and internal memorandums
- End-to-end delivery of corporate accountability matters, while working under pressure and delivering multiple work outputs under time pressure
- Select Committee requirements and processes
- The machinery of government, including interpreting relevant legislation (including Public Finance Act 1989, Public Service Act 2020 and Crown Entities Act 2004)
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels, internally and externally, including collaborating with others to achieve outcomes, and influencing the agenda.
- Building the capability of others, including the provision of guidance, coaching and on-the-job training to less experienced people

We’re looking for an **Adviser - Corporate Accountability** who will have experience and successful capability in:

- Providing trusted advice from within the public sector
- The machinery of government processes and relevant legislation (including Public Services Act 2020, Crown Entities Act 2000, Official Information Act and Public Finance Act 2004)
