(Scope of Practice - Registered Nurse)
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Renal Community Service / Home Therapies team.
This is a permanent full-time position.
Holding the **peritoneal dialysis portfolio,** the CNS will work collaboratively with a team of experienced nurses working within the renal sub-specialties. This is an excellent opportunity to continue to build on the team's success, in making a difference to, and providing outstanding care for all our patients.
**Key responsibilities**
- Assessment of **patient's suitability for peritoneal dialysis** as dialysis therapy.
- **Training and ongoing care** of patients and whanau to independently maintain peritoneal dialysis therapy in a home environment.
- C**ase management** and support for complex renal patients receiving renal replacement therapy.
- Provide **training and support** for nursing staff in both the renal service as well as the inpatient areas in the care and management of patient receiving peritoneal dialysis therapy.
It is essential that this Clinical Nurse Specialist has sound clinical knowledge of renal disease and previous experience in long term conditions patient care and management would be an advantage. The successful applicant will be part of the specialist renal nursing team maintaining a culture of excellence in delivering outstanding patient care.
