**The opportunity**:
The Senior Data Analyst, Intelligence and Insights is an integral part of the intelligence function. In this role you will undertake complex data analysis to assist intelligence analysts in the early detection of emerging or changing issues, trends, and risks.
Your success in this role will be your ability to analyse and interpret multiple sources of data to translate it into meaningful and accessible information and insights, to help inform the production of tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence outputs. You will engage across the Department, our stakeholders, partners, and industry to maintain current knowledge of data sources processes, and best practice.
As this is a newly established role, you have the opportunity to bring your innovation and continuous improvement mindset to develop data-focused processes and outputs to help enable the intelligence function tackle challenging, interesting, and real-world problems.

**About you**:
The experience, knowledge, and skills you will bring to this position will be:

- Demonstrated experience in analysing a complex range of data sources, producing accessible insights for a range of stakeholders, and the ability to translate complex data to a range of audiences.
- The ability to prioritise and actively manage multiple work streams within tight time constraints.
- Proven initiative and a proactive working style, with an eye on continuous improvement.
- Experience in data manipulation, analysis, and visualisation, for the purpose of informing intelligence outputs and customers.
- Experience in conducting analysis to identify trends, patterns, and relationships in data that indicate changes in risks or issues.
- Experience in the development of data analysis and visualisation processes, ensuring compliance with Department guidelines and security protocols.
- Experience with a range of data analysis and visualisation software and tools.
- Ability to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of processes used to analyse data for the intelligence function.
