**By joining us, you will be part of a team where meaningful work, collaboration and innovation come together to help keep New Zealand’s skies safe and secure.**
At the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand, we are constantly evolving to meet the demands of a changing environment and the aviation industry.
Recent legislative changes, along with an organisational realignment, have opened exciting new opportunities across the organisation. These changes are part of a broader effort to better position our teams for the future by enabling us to be more collaborative, efficient and effective in everything we do.
As we step confidently into our role as a modern regulator, we are embracing intelligence-led, risk-based approaches that help us make a real difference for our people and the communities we serve - with a strong value-for-money ethos. We’re also committed to enabling aviation participants to support economic growth in New Zealand's aviation sector.
**About the role**
We are looking for a solution focused Analyst to join our Regulatory Intelligence and Insights Team to further contribute and strengthen our goal of becoming a high-performing intelligence-led unit, which serves the wider organisation. You’ll be responsible for interpreting the operating environment, identifying and monitoring indicators of change, and providing a broad range of high-quality intelligence products to decision makers. You will lead products from start to finish through the intelligence cycle and will be able to rapidly respond and adapt to changing requirements, actively learning about the aviation environment and CAA’s role as the regulator for this space.
**What You’ll Bring**
The Intelligence Analyst is a modern intelligence professional with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, accurate, timely intelligence products; someone who can draw on their professional skills to really advance the intelligence function.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone that has:
- Experience in developing intelligence requirements (IRs) and a strong ability to translate intelligence requirements and analysis to provide usable insight and assessments, better informing recommendations for the aviation regulator.
- Highly adaptable working style with the ability to quickly respond to short notice taskings, responsive to developments in product scope/requirements, and change that may emerge.
- Able to confidently and effectively navigate challenges, complications, and unexpected turns which may emerge during taskings, embodying a solutions-oriented approach.
- Able to learn new information systems and engage with data visualisation dashboards such as Power BI.
- Confident in building and maintaining relationships with workgroups across the organisation, across government, and where applicable, with industry stakeholders.
- The ability to form sound intelligence assessments to support decision makers, to better inform the regulator and its operational workgroups.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver both verbal briefings and written reports.
- Formal intelligence training such as the NZDIA, DIAC, PgCertIntel, or other courses (preferable).
- A keen interest to learn about the aviation industry, and ability to learn and understand relevant legislation such as the Civil Aviation Act 2023.
- Aviation experience would be advantageous however is not essential.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security clearance.
**About Us**
Our Values - Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Transparency, and Collaboration - represent the standards of behaviour we uphold and guide how we work at the Authority.
