Consultation Lead
Fixed Term Opportunity (August 2024 - April 2025)
The Cyclone Recovery Unit is preparing advice for Government that will assist in immediate decision-making about a range of recovery settings following a significant natural hazard.
About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
This work will involve testing and seeking input and feedback from a range of different national, regional, and local groups, and organisations who have an interest in or are generally or specifically involved with recovery from the impacts of natural hazards.
The range and number of groups and organisations is large and there will be intensive consultation starting later this year.
We're looking for a very experienced person with a proven background and ability in:

- Effectively working with individuals, groups, and organisations at pace to pull together an engagement plan that works for all parties.
- Working across all forms of engagement and being able to identify, plan and support the most effective forms for each participant.
- Providing support to ensure that logístical arrangements to support the engagement plan are appropriate and timely.
- Working with the Policy team to prepare collateral to support each engagement that is timely, clear, and appropriate for the outcomes sought and the audience.
- Facilitate the implementation of the engagement plan ensuring that any unanticipated issues are effectively accommodated, and changes needed are made in a timely manner.

**You will be a person that**:

- Is practical and pragmatic - a self-starter and able to work at pace and can use networks and innovative means to identify the participants in the engagement process.
- Has a very strong focus on and background in delivery of results
- Is effective at relationship management and appropriately and successfully manages conflict and issues if they arise.
- Has the skills to prepare collateral, including being able to design appropriate A3s to suit the engagement and to do so at pace.
- Is able to work effectively with other teams, particularly the policy team to ensure that the engagement plan is fit for purpose.
