Our Opportunity
The Senior Demand Planner is the central person responsible for the Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) of their categories: Specifically coordinating demand, supply and inventory across the business and driving continuous improvement and efficiencies within own portfolio. Planners are responsible for the smooth running of the S&OP process including monthly sales forecast reviews, demand reviews, demand updates, and attending or managing the Site Supply Reviews and Supplier Review meetings.
Key responsibilities of the role
- Maintains base demand in APO, reviews demand regularly prior to the S&OP cycle so that a robust, accurate forecast for the next 24 months is delivered
- Reviews total demand with sales in weekly and monthly reviews, challenges demand trends, provides insights and creates the forecast in conjunction with the sales
- Ensures seasonal and NPD actively is accurately managed from forecasting through to execution
- Proactively manage risk and provide problem solving and issue resolution.
- Ensures manufacturing and 3rd party suppliers receives correct demand data monthly and communicates insights and trends from demand review to Manufacturing sites
- Receives capacity and product mix plan back from site, reviews and challenges where appropriate
- Takes a forward view of supply to ensure demand will be met. Identifies any short supply risks to managers and stakeholders in advance
- Reviews inventory levels regularly, including safety stock levels to maintain appropriate stock levels to maximise service and minimise warehousing costs
- Ensures surplus stock is moved quickly by the business, and proactive manage approaching dated clearance inventory
- Provide insights and challenges to new products, providing information to support business cases while managing the demand challenge and supply change
- Ensures internal stakeholders are engaged with the Planning Teams' focus areas and providing required communications and team reporting to their stakeholders

About You
- 3+ years' experience in a demand planning role, with negotiation, forecasting or other supply chain experience
- Proven experience within a ERP system or equivalent system
- Strong Negotiation and forecasting skills
- Strong Demand Forecasting skills
- Strong Reporting and Data analysis skills
- Strong SAP, APO and Excel Skills
- Continuous drive for improvement and efficiency
- CPIM/NZPICS preferred
- Diploma in Business (Operations/Supply Chain)
- Supply Chain, Business or Science Degree (Statistics) preferred
