Exciting opportunity to expand our attraction strategies throughout the organisation by using your talents to attract a diverse and inclusive workforce
- Guide and motivate a team to collaborate across Fire and Emergency to achieve some great attraction campaigns
**Ko wai mātou? - Who we are**
Fire and Emergency New Zealand is a Crown Entity established on 1 July 2017 under the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act 2017. The role of our new organisation is to reduce unwanted fires, respond to structural and vegetation fires and other emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, medical emergencies, hazardous substance related incidents and natural disasters, and to support increased community resilience.
Our vision is to build stronger communities and protect what matters most to the people within them. We are proud to be recognised as New Zealand’s most trusted public sector agency. Our values reflect what our people believe is core to who we are and the organisation we aspire to be:
We Do the Right Thing - Kia Tika
We Serve and Support - Manaakitanga
We Are Better Together - Whanaungatanga
We Strive to Improve - Auahatanga.
Our employee benefits include matched KiwiSaver employer contributions of up to six percent, life and income protection insurance for eligible employees, and a wellness policy that allows for generous sick leave provisions so you can look after yourself.
**Mō tēnei tūranga - about the role**
This role that was previously focused around volunteer attraction (so we have some good practices already in place). This new role now has a purpose to expand our attraction work into all areas of our recruitment and to work alongside our Recruitment Leads to create, develop, and implement a Recruitment strategy which enables Fire and Emergency NZ to attract a diverse and inclusive workforce which meets our future needs. This includes Volunteers, Career Firefighters, Corporate and Specialist roles. This role will be responsible for the continuous guidance and development of strategies and attraction plans to source the best talent.
**Ko tāu nā ki tēnei tūranga - what you’ll bring to the role**
As an experienced Team Leader, you will bring passion and enthusiasm for attraction, recruitment, and for Fire and Emergency. You will have the people skills to enable a high performing team through effective coaching and leadership. Alongside this, you will continuously develop and deliver attraction plans and strategies to help your team be successful in creating the best possible workforce for Fire & Emergency.
This all means you and your team will be working collaboratively across the Recruitment leadership team and the wider organisation, as well as external providers including community groups, recruitment specialists and other government agencies. Our people are passionate about what they do and you can be a part of making a real difference by helping to find great people.
**To be successful in this role, ideally you will have**:
- Proven experience working in similar roles (HR, marketing or a business-related field would help) and have successfully developed and implemented attraction strategies, preferably within a large, complex organisation.
- Experience leading a team to deliver results
- Be pro-active, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to use influencing and persuading techniques to build confidence and trust.
- Excellent time management skills and can be flexible and responsive to new ideas and activities.
- An appreciation for all things Kaupapa Māori.
- Previous Project Management experience and an understanding of budgets and how to work within budget constraints
**Ko te tono mai - How to apply**
**Applications close Friday 7 July**
**Please note**: Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory for this role.
