**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The National Public Health Service within Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
We have the opportunity available to join our team as a **Marketing Team Lead** in a permanent, full-time role. The Marketing Team Lead is responsible for leading, developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing a diverse range of programme, marketing and communications activities. The role will also contain responsibility for team leadership and management, whilst supporting the Group Manager, Whiti Ora.
The Whiti Ora team leads on social marketing, communications and digital for the National Public Health Service. We play a key role in implementing health promotion for Aotearoa and are at the forefront of innovative approaches globally.
**Mōu | About you**
You are someone who demonstrates a high level of understanding, skill and experience in the field of social marketing. You have experience in team management or leading projects that require delegation and working through others. You are able to move and respond quickly to a challenging and fast paced environment.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in a related area (marketing, social marketing, communications, PR) or relevant workforce experience, with comparable experience working at a management level
- At least five years' demonstrated and successful experience in a senior social marketing role or similar marketing role
- Proven experience in delivering effective engagement approaches for Māori and Pasifika audiences
- Experience in public health/health promotion campaign development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication across cultures, including Māori and Pacific. Built connections across a broad sector of organisations and individuals, and the ability to foster good communication among others
- Knowledge of New Zealand public sector/government beneficial
