**About the role**

We’re looking for a driven and people-focused Maintenance Team Lead to lead our Central Maintenance team. This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring our assets are maintained to a high standard while building capability, driving performance, and a proactive maintenance culture.

Key responsibilities of this role include..
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing maintenance team
- Own the planning and scheduling of work for the Central Maintenance team
- Act as the escalation point for breakdowns, driving effective and timely resolution
- Identify and eliminate recurring maintenance losses through root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across Production, Engineering and Supply Chain to align priorities and improve plant performance
- Contribute to broader strategic initiatives and maintenance system improvements

**Skills and Experience**

You’ll bring strong leadership, technical insight and a continuous improvement mindset to support the long-term reliability of our equipment and processes. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in shaping the future of maintenance at Synlait by developing your team, supporting cross-functional collaboration, and driving operational excellence.
- A trade qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical discipline
- Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment, ideally dairy, food, or beverage.
- Proven leadership experience in a technical or maintenance environment with a demonstrated track record of delivering results through team empowerment and continuous improvement.
- In-depth understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety compliance.
- Exposure to IWS, Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma is highly advantageous.
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence, coach, and collaborate cross-functionally
