**Mō te tūranga | About the Role**

Reporting to the Audit Director - Internal Audit, this role will see you participate and often lead independent reviews by designing and executing data analytic tests to validate controls, IT systems, processes and interfaces across Westpac New Zealand and identify areas for remediation and opportunities for enhancement. You will interact directly with the NZ business units including senior executive level stakeholders.

Primarily you will be involved with leading or working within an audit team to execute Internal Audit assignments, but this role also offers the opportunity to be involved in projects and really extend yourself. You will work across all areas of the bank giving you excellent exposure to senior stakeholders and an opportunity to build your personal brand.

Key accountabilities include:

- Lead and assist in planning data analytics to support the audit process, including the development of test scope to assess key risks and identification of required data to support the testing of processes, risks, and controls.
- Execute data analytics and audit fieldwork including testing the design and operating effectiveness of controls using data analytics and use of data visualisation techniques.
- Participate in non - data analytics audit fieldwork including testing the design and operating effectiveness.
- Assist in the reporting stages of the audit engagement, including preparing and discussing audit reports with management. These audit reports form the basis of the messages reported to the WNZL Board Audit Committee on a quarterly basis.
- Collaborate closely with diverse stakeholders (senior and junior level, technical and non-technical) in a team environment.

**Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?**
- Internal or external audit experience, but not compulsory.
- Experience in Data Analytics using analytical tools such as SQL
- Strong communication, problem-solving & relationship skills
- Experience preferably covering Technology is desirable
- Experience in financial services or banking is desirable
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI is desirable
- A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent field
