Located across the harbour from Wellington, Te Herenga Tangata, provides health services across the beautiful Hutt Valley. Now is a great time to join the team as we look to integrate with partner providers to better meet the needs of our people and are now part of a single (Te Whatu ORA) district with our Capital Coast colleagues increasing career development opportunities for our staff.
This position has been established with innovation funding to help us prioritise high needs clients. In doing so we will be building on a developing relationship with Kainga ORA. We receive a high volume of referrals from Kainga ORA and are streamlining our joint processes to help ensure we meet the needs of clients in the most timely and effective way.
We have ten Occupational Therapists in our large inter-disciplinary team which includes Early Supported Discharge. Our therapists specialize across a broad range of areas from neuro rehabilitation to complex housing modifications and Wheelchair and Seating. We have some flexibility as to how this role is configured. The development work may involve the appointee to this role or staff already within the team. Mō tō mātou rōpū ' About our team
Te Herenga Tangata is our Community Older Persons, Rehabilitation, ESD and Allied Health team. You will be working with Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Nurses, and linking to Speech Language therapists, Dietitians, as well as our medical and Community Nursing colleagues.
Our team is improving our service delivery models which will see us using inter-professional practice approaches and delegating more work to our skilled Allied Health and Rehab Assistants.
We are also continuing to build relationships with Primary Health and a broad range of Government and Community providers in order to provide timelier, effective and equity focused health services.
