The Occupational Health Nurse role is to help provide comprehensive support and advice to both managers and individuals on the prevention of work related ill-health and injuries, the support of those at work with health problems and the promotion of health and wellbeing. This is done with a particular focus on:
- Preventative strategies for identifying and controlling hazards to health arising from work
- Rehabilitation programmes assisting return to work from illness/injury in a safe and suitable manner
- Ensuring that work related health issues are appropriately managed
- Promoting health and well being at workMō tō mātou rōpū ' About our team
The occupational health service has a presence in both Capital Coast and Hutt Valley campuses on a daily basis and interim at Kenepuru and Kapiti. The Team comprises of a Head of Health and Safety, a Capital coast, Hutt Valley district Occupational Health Services manager and has Occupational Health Nurses based in the 2 main campus sites. This role will be based in Hutt Valley but with a requirement to cover all additional sites to ensure the scope of the service is available to all employees and managers at all times.

- Rehabilitation Case Manager
- Administrator
- Mask Fit testers and administrator
The person we are looking for is someone who has wide experience in health, is conscientious, reliable, adaptable and open to change so as to ensure the service delivery is on point with what is required by the organization in current times. We are seeking someone who is not afraid to promote good ideas, to work alongside multi disciplinary groups to reach a common goal, who can engage at any level and wishes to be part of a new service by working to increase its visibility positively in all ways and alter how this service is viewed. Attitude is important in this role because of who we need to engage with, we are seeking someone who wants to make a genuine difference for the people they represent and be the best professional they can be.
