**About the Role**
The role of a Systems Engineer is crucial in managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure of an organization. They ensure the smooth functioning of both on-premises and cloud-based systems, focusing on the implementation and support of various client platforms. Their expertise spans across desktop, server, and end-client computing, contributing significantly to business-as-usual activities. Moreover, they play a key role in identifying solutions, executing detailed designs, implementing, and documenting infrastructure solutions, which are vital for the clients technological advancement.
**Responsibilities**
- Maintain data center infrastructure hardware, including servers, storage, networking, and backup media from various vendors like Cisco, HP, Dell, and NetApp.
- Deliver general corporate client end-user support, technical fault analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
- Implement new solutions or enhancements to existing systems, technology, or infrastructure.
- Monitor and administer infrastructure platform systems and functions, such as backups, and provide regular reports.
- Review and update all relevant documentation regularly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct capacity analysis on existing systems and recommend system expansions or other suitable solutions.
- Log activities accurately and in a timely manner to ensure accountability and traceability.
**Required Experience**
- Minimum 5 years of IT experience, with 2-3 years as a Systems Engineer, preferably with MSP experience.
- Possession of at least one major certification: MSP, MCSE, CNE, VCP, CCEA, or Cisco Certification.
- Experience with large/medium scale infrastructure projects, including component replacement or upgrades.
- Understanding of connectivity and functionality across desktops, servers, and network hardware in a distributed environment.
- Skills in core Microsoft technologies such as AD, Printing, DHCP, DNS.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies including Office365, Exchange Online, Azure, and AWS.
- Experience with virtualization technologies like VMWare and Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with storage technologies such as SAN, DAS, NAS.
- Competency in platform monitoring and management tools like SCCM and SCOM.
- Proficient in Windows deployment and patching.
- Ability to script and automate processes using PowerShell.
- Confidence in client engagement and articulating the benefits of proposed solutions.
- Strong soft skills and a proactive attitude towards learning and professional development.
