**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

Auckland Transport (AT) is on a mission to create a safe, accessible, and sustainable transport system that supports a thriving Tāmaki Makaurau. As part of this mission, we're looking for a passionate and experienced **Road Safety Engineering Manager** to lead a high-performing team dedicated to reducing harm on our roads.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Providing key inputs into the development and delivery of the annual road safety engineering programme.
- Managing a team of technical professionals and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Working closely with internal and external stakeholders including Waka Kotahi, NZ Police, and local boards.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety standards.
- Championing data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement in safety outcomes.
- Putting our customers first and listening to the voice of our communities.

**Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?**

We're looking for a strategic thinker and people leader with:

- A tertiary qualification in engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience (10 years+) in road safety engineering or transport infrastructure delivery.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
- A passion for making Auckland's roads safer for everyone.
