As a Transmission Line Mechanic at Northpower, you’ll be at the forefront of transmission line construction and maintenance, ensuring that our customers' needs are met safely and efficiently. You'll be part of a great team working on essential projects and contributing to the smooth operation of our transmission lines. Your main focus will be on delivering high-quality work, operating electrical equipment, and completing necessary documentation while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
We are looking for a Transmission Line Mechanic to join our team, and you'll be based in either Hamilton or Rotorua. In this role, you'll work in a supportive environment where your contributions are valued, and you'll have opportunities to develop your skills and make a difference every day.
- The key responsibilities for the Transmission Line Mechanic position include:_
- Build and repair transmission lines in line with customer specifications and regulatory standards, ensuring reliable and safe power delivery.
- Develop and Implement Work Plans and manage the construction and maintenance of transmission equipment.
- Complete all necessary field paperwork, including inspection reports and asset documentation
- Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact project timelines or quality

**About you**
We’re looking for an experienced Transmission Line Mechanic who has a strong safety focus and is capable of working efficiently in a dynamic environment. If you have experience in transmission line work and hold the necessary qualifications, we’d love to hear from you
- To succeed in this role, you’ll bring some of the following skills and experience:_
- Relevant transmission certifications and qualifications
- E1 and E2 or TLM or level 4 electricity supply transmission,
- At least 2 years of experience in a transmission line work environment
- Full, clean NZ driver’s license (Class 2 desirable)
- A strong commitment to health and safety practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A great attitude and a willingness to be part of a high-performing team
- Live Line qualification non-essential but preferred
