**The Role**

We have an exciting and rare opportunity for an Area Manager to join our high performing team. This role is a key piece in our Synlait strategy which builds trusted relationships and uses innovation and insight to add value to our farmers.

Your proactive work ethic and ability to deal with complex problem solving will ensure you are able to build better solutions for farmer, Synlait, and our customers. You will have a passion for the industry, a good knowledge of dairy farming systems and management, as well as a commercial and big picture focus in your approach.

The main responsibilities of this role include..
- Capable of tailoring solutions and understanding the unique needs of your farmer suppliers
- Develop a broad network of trusted industry professionals who will be essential to delivering the identified support for farmer suppliers
- Effectively manage and respond to on farm issues relating to milk supply for farmer suppliers in your area
- Proactively engage with Synlait rural communities to uphold and enhance our Synlait strategy
- Actively support farmers to achieve and maintain Lead with Pride certification through implementation of best practice systems
- Support farmers on their journey which will enable them to produce quality, sustainably produced milk
- Support the Head of Milk Supply and Business Relationship Manager to ensure there is a pipeline of future potential farmer suppliers

Ideally you would have come from a farming, agri banking or consultancy background so If this sounds like you then we want to hear from you

**Skills and Experience**

To be considered for this role will require
- You will ideally have a strong technical knowledge of farm systems
- High intelligence and intuitiveness to be able to quickly assess situations and decisively and effectively act
- Ability to interpret data, draw conclusions and provide appropriate options where required
- Sound analytical skills and knowledge of financial models
- Proven relationship building skills and strong capability in problem solving and decision making
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, coaching and mentoring skills
