**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

The Immunisation team is part of the Prevention directorate in the National Public Health Service (NPHS) and has the overarching responsibility of immunisation in Aotearoa and collaborates with colleagues across Te Whatu Ora at local, regional, and national levels and partners with Te Aka Whai Ora, Manatū Hauora, and community organisations to strengthen hauora and improve immunisation rates.

We have a 6-month, full-time opportunity available to join our Immunisation team as a** Programme Manager, Immunisation. **This role is critical in enabling the delivery of the NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures).

The Programme Manager will contribute to theeffective and efficient management, operational guidance and leadership,to progress innovative solutions to improve vaccination rates with a focus on addressing the equity gap for Māori and Pacific communities.
- (Note : This is one of two Programme Manager roles in the team who will work in collaboration, taking a whānau centred approach; however this role focusses mostly on rangatahi and kaumatua and has responsibility for the delivery of the influenza and COVID-19 vaccination programmes, where the other role focuses mostly on antenatal and childhood immunisation.) _

The role will support the implementation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the achievement of Pae Ora.

**Mōu | About you**

You be someone who has successfully delivered complex projects and or, programmes of work; offering operational guidance and leadership. You will be adept at utilising research, reports and data to develop an evidence and experience based workplan, and will possess strong stakeholder management skills to facilitate collaboration, and the successful implementation of innovative solutions and new initiatives. You have a strong understanding of Public Health and ideally knowledge about immunisation to enable you to hit the ground running on important projects underway to improve vaccination rates in Aotearoa, prioritising delivering equitable access, experience, and outcomes.

- A relevant graduate or post-graduate qualification in Health, Social Services, Māori or Project Management and/or relevant experience
- Adept at programme planning, budget management, project planning, effective performance monitoring, evaluation and reporting, risk identification and management
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret complex data and dynamics and develop pragmatic operational advice and solutions to resolve issues and support team members
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships.
- Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex matters simply and to a range of audiences

- Existing relationships within Te Whatu Ora, Te Aka Whai Ora and Ministry of Health would be
- Confidence and competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth; and a passion for achieving equity in health and wellbeing in Aotearoa New Zealand
