Our Schemes Underwriting team is unique in what they do, using innovative ways in how they deliver their products to their partners and are looking for a superstar that has well rounded knowledge of the insurance market.

Opportunities to join this team are rare but we now have **a permanent, full-time role **available for an Auckland based applicant.

**The role**

As **Underwriter
- Schemes** you will assist and support the underwriting of Broker schemes portfolios by facilitating and maintaining robust end to end processes that support operational alignment, efficiency, compliance, and profitable business performance. The role provides technical underwriting skills that supports Renewal retention of scheme and initiatives for securing new Schemes business. You will play a key role utilising the Governance framework participating in Business Assurance Tests and Annual Reviews for Schemes, ensuring our partners are operating within their agreed authorities, monitoring referral types, whilst working closely with the wider team across our number of different schemes. There will be some work involving investigating the Unallocated cash. Demonstrating ownership of workflow, as well as collaborating with other area’s within NZI will require clear communication and being commercial.

**Skills & Experience**:
To succeed in this role, you'll need a minimum of 2 years’ experience in commercial underwriting, along with a broad knowledge of general insurance with an excellent collaboration and communication skillset.

Your excellent underwriting and risk management skills will see you sharing your expertise and providing commercially sound solutions. You'll ideally have built strong relationships within the broker network and wider business and will be a trusted and respected advisor.

As someone who is committed to providing excellent customer service, you will approach this role with a high level of energy and enthusiasm. You'll also have excellent relationship-building skills, thrive on achieving results and work effectively as part of a team.
