We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Advisor - Privacy.

The Privacy Team works with leaders, managers and staff at all levels across the Ministry to provide privacy advisory and support services and to embed privacy best practice. Due to flexibility within the team, there is scope for our advisors to be part of both privacy BAU work as well as privacy capability building and continuing improvement initiatives, depending on their experience and interest. New Zealand's future economy will have a different mix of industries, jobs, and skills. MBIE's advice in these areas will inform decisions that re-shape New Zealand's economic future. In this role you will have the opportunity to provide privacy advice on a broad range of operations spanning 16 different regulatory systems. MBIE collaborates with business groups in providing data and technology to enable delivery on the opportunities, challenges and priorities that lie ahead for Aotearoa New Zealand. That is where your passion and experience in understanding privacy, data, and information practice can influence new ways of thinking and working.

In this role you will work with the Principal Advisor - Privacy and other senior/advisors in providing high quality and timely advice and support on a wide range of privacy issues. You will need to be technically proficient, agile, adaptable and a strong communicator.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with experts to build your knowledge and provide advice and guidance on some of MBIE's most complex and privacy matters

- Knowledge and understanding of Privacy legislation, policy and processes
- Well-developed written and verbal communication abilities, which allow you to convey key
- ideas and issues in a way that is suitable to the audience
- Strong relationship management skills and an ability to work well with others
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
- Tertiary qualification or comparable relevant experience
