We focus on four key priorities: empowering disabled people to access health and wellbeing, housing, education, and employment. **He aha te tūranga - About the role**: The purpose of this position is to support Spectrum Group to enhance its capability in Te Ao Māori. To help achieve this purpose, the Pou Ārahi will develop and provide formal learning programmes as well as informal coaching to increase the skills and knowledge of staff and leaders, promote cultural awareness and build confidence in te reo me ōna tikanga. As the "pillar of guidance" the Pou Ārahi may also directly provide cultural support for staff, tāngata whaikaha and their whānau, and support the Group to foster meaningful relationships with iwi, hapū, and Māori communities. **Key responsibilities**: - Develop and/or source learning content and materials that support the acquisition of these competencies. This would include, for example, delivering workshops and training to build cultural awareness and confidence in te reo me ōna tikanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi - Support leadership and staff to understand and implement Te Ao Māori, tikanga and te reo in their work. - Provide coaching and mentorship for staff engaging with Māori stakeholders. - Directly support staff, tāngata whaikaha and/or their whānau with their cultural needs, fostering an environment that respects and incorporates Māori cultural perspectives and practices. - As and when required, act as a cultural liaison between the organisation and Māori communities, including iwi and hapū. - Provide support to ensure tikanga and te reo Māori are appropriately incorporated into workplace practices. - Support the planning and execution of Māori-focused events, celebrations, and initiatives. - Strengthen and maintain relationships with mana whenua, iwi, hapū, and key Māori stakeholders. **Ko wai koe** - About you**: - You will have a full current class 1 NZ driver licence. - Matatau i roto i te reo Māori me ōna tikanga - Tertiary qualification in Te Reo Māori, education or similar is preferred - Previous experience in adult education or training. - Experience working with Māori communities, iwi, and hapū. - Expertise in Kaupapa Māori is imperative - Self-organisation and time management skills to plan ahead, set priorities, meet deadlines and attend to detail. - Strong leadership and relationship-building skills. - Ability to navigate and influence in a diverse workplace environment. - Passionate about supporting Māori development and cultural wellbeing. - A background in the disability sector, education, health, social services is preferred. **Job Details**: - Reference # - 38439 - Posted on - 09 May 2025 - Closes on - 06 Jun 2025 23:55 - Location(s) - Central Auckland - Expertise - Administration - Work type(s) - Full-time (40 hours) - Hours per week - Availability - Day shifts - CSW Practical Responsibilities List
