Gentrack, a 900-person global company listed on the NZ and AUS stock exchanges, is seeking a Technical Team Lead to join our R&D team. With main offices in London, Auckland, Melbourne, and Pune, we deliver SaaS solutions for utilities.

In this role, you'll combine technical expertise, leadership, and a strong focus on delivering business value. You'll lead a team of 5-7 engineers, driving high performance through technical direction, process ownership, and people development.

**Key Focus Areas**:

- People Leadership: Mentor, guide, and coach your team to grow and perform at their best.
- Process Ownership: Continuously improve team ceremonies and workflows for consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Business Value: Ensure the team delivers features that directly impact revenue and align with stakeholder expectations.
- Technical Leadership: Lead by example in architecture, development (C# + AWS), code reviews, and best practices.

**Responsibilities**:

- Guide technical design and delivery using **C# and AWS.**:

- Conduct code reviews and support strong engineering practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and deliver roadmap milestones.Monitor progress, manage risks, and maintain excellence.
- Stay current with modern dev practices (e.g., AI for productivity, test automation, CI/CD) and leadership problem solving models.
- Lead continuous improvement through collaboration, consensus and documentation using tools like Miro, Confluence and Slacks

**Bonus Points for**:

- Experience modernizing legacy systems. We would love to hear about your wins and battle scars
- Hands-on background in C#, AWS, CI/CD, Observability, Test Automation and ability to drive continuous improvement with passion
- Past experience of supporting live Customers as a Product team.
- Future aspiration to develop into an Engineering Manager in your career, we are ambitious as a company and we are looking for ambitious people who can make the best of the opportunities

We also welcome Senior Engineers with past experience at a smaller scale, looking to grow into leadership — support and mentorship will be provided by an experienced Engineering Manager.
