This is an opportunity to join our Acceleration & Development team within Multi-modal Integration, and have an impact across the transport sector, building capability to deliver multimodal transport options for Aotearoa alongside our Public Transport, Freight & Rail, and Urban Mobility teams. The Acceleration & Development team is set to grow. Building multimodal capability across the transport sector is essential if we are to achieve the Governments goals for transport and ensure we provide options for how people and goods travel in the future, enabling a safe, healthy, and prosperous Aotearoa. As well as providing learning and capability development support, advice, and expertise to support this work across Waka Kotahi and the wider sector, 50% of this role will initially be focussed on supporting our Urban Mobility team Streets for People programme. This means being the capability building workstream lead for the Streets for People programme, designing and delivering the capability framework and being accountable for workstream activities, supporting and facilitating workshops, from problem solving in small groups to facilitation of large events and working with project teams to learn, adjust and improve as part of an action-learning approach The other 50% of this role is supporting the manager Acceleration & Development to build multimodal capability across Waka Kotahi and the wider transport sector. Our teams are fun, supportive, and positive about getting people moving. Our Streets for People programme specifically works with Councils to rapidly reallocate road space for walking, cycling and general wellness of the city, while also considering vehicles getting around. This role may require some travel. Come and join us as we partner with councils, Waka Kotahi staff and the wider transport sector to design, support and deliver specific learning material including events and initiatives, communities of practice and mentoring to increase capability, collaboration, and engagement. Ko koe tēnei | About you' You will be energetic, passionate about improving people's knowledge, skills, and the systems they work within, and solutions focussed. You will have the ability to empower and collaborate across teams working towards a common vision. You will have:
- experience working with internal and external partners to understand what problems they are facing, identifying the capability gaps or issues from a learning perspective as well as a wider capability perspective including policy and process
- experience in designing learning interventions to uplift knowledge and skills as well as improving the non-learning issues of policy, process, and system.
- proven ability to plan, deliver, and support the delivery of learning interventions including workshops, webinars, and facilitating communities of practice.
- experience working with colleagues to identify future issues and needs, and then design or support the design of solutions
- experience and confidence engaging with senior leaders
- excellent communication skills
- a customer focus with strong problem-solving and creativity skills
