The Ministry for Pacific Peoples (the Ministry) leads and manages the provision of advice to Government on policies and interventions to promote the social, economic and cultural wellbeing of Pacific peoples in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The Ministry and its work are anchored by Pacific values, with each generation weaving the foundation for the next to stand on.
The Secretary for Pacific Peoples and Chief Executive will sustainably and strategically position the Ministry to materially contribute to improved outcomes for Pacific peoples in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Embedding the new All-of-Government Pacific Wellbeing Strategy in the Ministry's operating model will be a priority for the Secretary as the Ministry continues to work to achieve the vision of Pacific Aotearoa Lalanga Fou and its goals.
To achieve this, we are seeking a passionate and collaborative leader with strong Pacific community connections and relationships throughout Aotearoa New Zealand and experience at organisational leadership, sector leadership, system leadership and managing context. The Secretary for Pacific Peoples must be able to build and maintain strong relationships across the Ministry's diverse stakeholder groups. Knowledge and understanding of a Pacific language and culture would be advantageous.
