About UsThe Ministry for Pacific Peoples (MPP) is seeking a Deputy Secretary - Policy & Strategy to lead strategic policy advice and analysis that delivers positive outcomes for Pacific communities. Your mahi will chart a course towards a brighter future grounded in robust policy and strategic insights.Directorate's Mission The Policy & Strategy Directorate is on a mission to champion effective policy advice that drives improvements for Pacific peoples in Aotearoa. As the Crown's principal advisor, providing robust strategic policy insights to Ministers and other agencies, MPP's focus is on building effective strategies and programmes for short, medium, and long-term outcomes that empower Pacific communities.The RoleAs the Deputy Secretary - Policy & Strategy, you'll lead the charge in providing strategic Pacific policy advice and analysis across MPP and Government. Your leadership will extend to strategic and organisational governance through active participation in MPP's executive-level team.Your Responsibilities
- Steer and manage the policy work programme as the Crown's principal advisor on policies for Pacific peoples in Aotearoa New Zealand;
- Set the strategic compass and implement strategies that align with the Ministry's vision;
- Elevate MPP's influence across the public service by fostering initiatives and relationships throughout government;
- Enhance the Ministry's organisational dynamics by contributing as a Tautua member.
