Looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to develop your leadership skills? We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and motivated Associate Team Leader to join the Akaroa Community and School Library team in a permanent part-time role (30 hours per week).
Akaroa Community and School Library is a joint use school and community library managed by the Christchurch City Council. The library provides a service to the Akaroa community, including seasonal visitors, and also provides the Akaroa Area School with full access to the libraries resources and support for their learning and teaching programmes.
As a successful applicant you will have leadership skills to manage the day to day operations of the library working alongside your Christchurch City Libraries colleagues and the community to develop and maintain strong relationships. In addition to professional knowledge of the library and information sector you will bring to this role the ability to motivate and further develop team members to achieve organisational goals. Having excellent communication, customer service, planning and self-management skills are also essential for this role. You will have a collaborative style that results in strong and constructive working relationships, support for the Library's commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and the ability to take responsibility and manage multiple and sometimes complex demands.
The Akaroa Community and School Library operates six days per week. This role reports to the Community Team Leader, Lyttelton Library.
**Qualifications and experience required**:
Level 6 library qualification with 3 years relevant experience.

- Salary_ - $31.43 to $40.03 per hour
- Location_ - This position is primarily based at Akaroa Library
Whilst staff working at the Christchurch City Council are not currently required to be vaccinated, applicants need to be aware that should the COVID-19 environment change, roles across the organisation will be assessed, and the requirement to be vaccinated may be reviewed.
