- The Production Planning role is a vital position within the Supply Chain Team ANZ and the key objective of this position is to work closely with the Commercial and Operations Teams to produce an achievable production plan that services the Mountview and Hornby manufacturing sites, whilst meeting customer delivery requirements by optimising the use of available resources.

**Responsibilities**:

- Utilising Hexion demand management systems prepare major raw material requirements forecast to ensure that purchasing and distribution cycles are fully maximised.
- Under the directive of Supply Chain and or Procurement leads manage, approve and release purchase orders to authorisation limits ensuring that shipments and arrival times are communicated to key stakeholders.
- Implement material flow processes between the sites and 3PL warehouses by raising purchase requisitions, stock transfers and production orders to prevent production delays and shortages.
- Collaborate with site production managers to ensure optimum productivity and timely completion of bulk products and packaged off products to meet customer expectations.
- Relay relevant information in a timely manner to sites and key stakeholders regarding material shortages, potential schedule interruptions, and transportation issues that would affect a steady state of supply to the customer.
- Analyse customer demand information, forecast, orders, labour, and material availability to build bulk inventory with the aim of developing a flexible yet efficient master schedule.
- In conjunction with the Commercial and Operations Teams prepare reports and analyse production specifications, product cycle times and plant capacity data to achieve continuous improvement.
- Lead weekly S & OP meetings to ensure that NZ site’s is appropriately supported in the most cost-effective manner.
- Manage the inventory control function to ensure policy compliance and that the objectives of system reliability and accuracy are achieved through weekly raw material reviews and formal monthly cycle counts for both sites.
- In collaboration with the Global Supply Chain team lead the development of scheduling tools to increase the level of automation and reduce the manual nature of the Scheduling function for both the Hornby and Mt View sites.
- Provide backup to the Australian Production Planner as required.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or Logistics or equivalent certificate in Logistics Management or have significant relevant industry experience.
- 5 years in a production planning, scheduling and purchasing role in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Innovative and adaptive approach to Production Planning within a dynamic chemical manufacturing environment.
- Deep understanding of Tier 1 and Tier 2 forecasting methods and the ability to accurately manage inventory in SAP and or other ERP system.
- Prior strong knowledge of scheduling, planning, purchasing and warehouse strategies and software tools to achieve an integrated business plan.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to analyse data and convey complex issues simply.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Desirable:

- Knowledge of Transportation regulations, DG legislation and appropriate to the handling of incoming and outgoing materials for New Zealand and Australia.
