**Position Summary**:
Provide an effective planning service to Methanex New Zealand in order to improve the productivity and efficiency of work across the business; providing expert knowledge, advice and direction.

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Provide expert advice and knowledge on planning to the business; ensuring continuous improvement and, planning requirements and best practices are met.
- Provide planning guidance and support to the planning team; overseeing and allocating workload as required.
- Support the scheduling function as required to ensure scheduling work can be delivered in full and on time.
- Lead the coordination of all preparation work required before execution of a job.
- Perform a coordination role during each of the IPEC phases (Initiation/Preparation/Execution/ Closeout), acting as the interface between departments/stakeholders.
- Create accurate job plans for work activities so that such activities can be carried out in an efficient and straightforward manner.
- Create accurate contingency plans to ensure efficient mobilisation of resources and minimum downtime during times of planned and unplanned shutdowns.
- Adjust work plans as necessary in order to meet changing business, materials or parts requirements.
- Review accuracy of estimations in order to identify gaps and improve future planning work.
- Place demands for all known stock and non-stock items and reflect delivery times so that plans accurately reflect item requirement/availability and so that items are available as per the job requirements.
- Produce both routine and exception reporting in order to meet compliance requirements.
- Ensure the asset management system is updated, accurate, complete and relevant.
- Adhere to appropriate standards and guidelines, ensuring all work complies with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

**Position Qualifications**:

- Relevant industrial trade qualification, degree or equivalent experience, preferably in control systems (instrumentation and electrical)
- Minimum five years’ experience in work planning in the petrochemical industry or similar
- Intermediate PC and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and work scheduling software, i.e. Microsoft Project or Primavera
- Knowledge of business intelligence tools and reporting
- Knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance programmes (preferred)
- Good public relations skills to interface with both internal and external customers
- Capacity to exercise sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, be flexible and adaptive
