**He aha te mahi? What's the role?**:
We are looking for a motivated self-starter to join our Grower Commercial Services team, playing a vital role in safeguarding our valuable SunGold and RubyRed kiwifruit varieties. Through meticulous field audits, you'll ensure the protection of our Plant Variety Rights (PVR), essential for maintaining our premium market position and sustaining healthy returns for our growers. With approximately 10,600 hectares under our PVR umbrella, representing nearly $4 billion in intellectual property, your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will be instrumental. While familiarity with the horticultural industry is advantageous, it's not a prerequisite.

A reasonable amount of travel to kiwifruit growing regions in New Zealand is required.

Your key duties will include:

- Undertake full investigation and enforcement of PVR protection through on-orchard visits and providing comprehensive documented, auditable and substantiated supporting material from the visits.
- Management of the relationship between Zespri and its key stakeholders in the communication and protection of PVR’s.
- Assisting the Licensing and New Cultivar Teams with PVR protection and pre-commercial trials activities
- Management, planning and reporting observations of field PVR audits to the PVR Team Lead and the Licensing team.
- Implementing an audit programme for all growers that are party to the agreements for plant propagation with Zespri.
- Undertake any other adhoc industry related compliance or PVR investigation.
- Provide PVR education to growers and industry stakeholders in conjunction with the critical enforcement role.
- Ongoing support to the Zespri Industry Compliance Team including enforcement and investigation support particularly in relation to labour exploitation and high-risk noncompliance concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will meet the following selection criteria:

- Field background in the horticultural/agricultural industry is highly regarded.
- Strong investigative and analytical abilities.
- Confident with conflict resolution.
- Operates with integrity and patience.
- Is able to work well under pressure with a particular reference to seasonal highs.
- Ability to provide a mature outlook in difficult situations, with the ability to seek others' opinions and deliver the best outcome for growers and Zespri
- Previous auditing, relationship management experience desirable.
- Available to travel, with a full NZ Drivers Licence.
- Well-developed computer skills: Word, Power Point, Outlook.
