Zespri is more than simply the world’s single-largest marketer of kiwifruit. We like to think of ourselves as fruit on a mission and as rebels with a cause: to help people, communities and the environment around the world thrive through the goodness of kiwifruit. We are proudly the world’s largest marketer of kiwifruit, selling kiwifruit in more than 50 countries. We work with around 2,800 New Zealand and 1,500 international growers and post-harvest companies to source the best-quality Zespri Kiwifruit which we supply through our distribution partners to wholesale and retail customers. We are one of New Zealand’s best-known international brands, dedicated to creating sustainable long-term value for growers.

In addition to this, there are new varieties currently being trialled and likely to be scheduled to be released over the coming years adding to the overall licensed varieties to be managed.

The Licence coordinator’s task of audit investigation and resolution is vital to the current 2,242 orchards that grow SunGold and RubyRed kiwifruit across New Zealand, this is to ensure that the rules are adhered to in order to protect the PVR (Plant Variety Rights) and the investment made by New Zealand kiwifruit growers. Over 800 GPS audits and 650 physical audits are processed annually. This figure will increase as more licence is released to the industry in the coming years and the value of licences also increase. Please note, this is a 14 month fixed term contract due to an internal secondment.

The core responsibilities of the role will include;
- To be responsible for the management, reporting, administration, authentication, issuing and auditing of New Zealand Zespri proprietary licences.
- Create respectable working relationships with internal and external stake holders (mapping providers, legal consultants, post-harvest facilities and banks) in order to deliver an efficient and accurate licence maintenance process.
